World Teachers’ Day is celebrated in Australia on Friday 25 October.
Teaching is an incredibly challenging but rewarding profession. For a teacher to hear the words ‘Oh I get it!’ is one of the most rewarding moments in the day. This moment will be a culmination of numerous hours of researching, designing inclusive learning opportunities, differentiated lessons and meaningful assessments for the range of students in their class to each achieve this one ‘Aha’ moment…. and then for the next step!
World Teachers’ Day is a great opportunity for us to recognise and appreciate teachers and the important role they play in shaping our students.
Teachers have significant influence in students’ lives, inspiring and motivating them to achieve their potential.
The inviting classrooms, engaging lessons and positive learning cultures teachers create in classrooms all help to provide the best academic and wellbeing outcomes for our students to help them reach their potential. Our teachers have deep knowledge of the curriculum and how students learn. They manage data, research emerging trends, stay on top of current best practices and promote student’s wellbeing. Teachers are aware of and cater for the emotional, developmental, and physical needs of students, doing their best to support each and every student to reach their potential.
Today we have taken some time to thank our teachers for all the hard work and energy they put into creating safe, supportive learning environments for our students. Our teachers are highly committed to their own learning and to developing innovative and effective ways to teach their students and raise achievement. Each and every day they make a difference in the lives of the children they teach.
Thank you to Parent Network, OSHC, individual and groups of parents who have recognised and honoured our teachers this week.
