REGISTRATION FOR 2025
Registration is open Monday, March 31st, via Qkr!

SOCCER AT WOODEND
Soccer is run with an emphasis on participation and fair play in line with the “keys to success”. Woodend competes under and is governed by the policies of the Southern Districts Junior Soccer Association (SDJSA). All sides are non-competitive except for under-11 and Senior Primary Knock-out carnivals.
Both boys and girls can enrol to play soccer once they are in year 2. Every child who participates will be awarded a certificate of participation from the District.

Parent volunteers are always needed either in an official capacity (coaches, referees, etc) or to assist with running our home games and ground preparation.

WHEN ARE WHERE
Soccer at Woodend is played in terms 2 & 3.

Games are played on Saturday mornings on a home-and-away basis.

AWAY GAME TIMES vary depending on the opposition. These times will be available before season commencement, enabling parents to plan in advance.

HOME GAME TIMES may vary due to team numbers, but as a general guideline, they are as follows:
Under 8: approx. 8:00 am kick-off
Under 9: approx. 8.45 am kick-off
Under 10: approx. 9.30 am kick-off
Under 11: approx. 11.30 am kick-off
Senior Primary: approx. 10.30 am kick-off
These times are subject to change without notice due to team numbers.

Parents are required to help with the erection of the goals at the start and finish times. If games start late, time will be taken away from the game time to ensure other matches run on time.

Their home ground is located at Bowker Street, North Brighton.

Each team has the opportunity to participate in their age carnival held at Bowker Street in Term 3.

AGE RANGE
Boys and Girls can join soccer in Years 2 to 6, with teams U8, U9, U10, U11, and Senior Primary.

UNIFORM
The school will supply a Woodend sports jersey as part of the soccer uniform. This will be returned and washed in a named bag at the end of the season.

Students must wear navy blue shorts, navy blue socks, soccer boots (must be plastic sprigs), and shin guards.

No jewellery (including earrings and watches) is permitted to be worn on game days, and all long hair is to be tied back (no braiding, please).

COACHES AND TRAINING
Each team requires a Coach or Coaches/Team Manager (Volunteer/s).
The coordinator and coaches will set down training days and times at the beginning of the season. If your child cannot attend training, please advise the coach.
Players with club commitments on school training days can be excused from school training; however, it is preferred they attend partial sessions to ensure team bonding. If this affects your child, please ask your coach what can be done.
