School football is a terrific way to learn the basic skills and rules of Aussie Rules Football. Woodend plays in the SANFL Schools Competition. Nine-a-side competitions will be conducted across four rounds at locations across metropolitan Adelaide.

AGE RANGE

Boys and Girls can join football in Years 3 to 6.

Year R-2 students can join AusKick

Football teams are defined by the year levels, which can change depending on the number of registration forms received for the season.

Rules are modified from team to team to cater to the age groups’ skill and safety levels.

UNIFORM

The school will supply a Woodend sports guernsey as part of the AFL uniform. This will be returned and washed in a named bag at the end of the season.

Students must wear navy blue shorts, navy blue football socks, football boots, and a mouth guard.

COACHES AND TRAINING

Each team requires a Coach or Coaches/Team Manager (Volunteer/s).

The coordinator and coaches will set down training days and times at the beginning of the season. If your child cannot attend training, please advise the coach.

Training is held at the school on the oval.
