On Thursday 28th November, we officially opened the ‘Grow Free Cart’. This was initiated by student members of the SRC Environment Committee, in particular, Year 6 student, Sara Owies. The purpose of this cart is for students, parents or staff to take items on the cart for free and where possible, return some produce for another family to take. If you have any excess produce – vegetables, fruit, herbs, spices and/or flowers to donate/share, this would be much appreciated by Woodend families. You can also help yourself to any produce already on the cart. Thank you to Sara and her committee, Ms Ellis and Kate Washington, our Garden specialist, for leading this community project. So far there has been carrots, potatoes and lettuce placed on the cart so come and help yourself! We will enjoy seeing the items in this cart grow and change!
