The Woodend boys hosted round 2 of the statewide AFL competition at their home ground, taking on McAuley in Game 1 before facing Grange in Game 2.
While the team was unable to come away with a win, there were plenty of positives to take from the day. The boys showed great determination and resilience, improving with each quarter and building their confidence as the games progressed. The improvement shown across both matches was evident, and the boys can be proud of the way they represented their school.
The standout performer of the day was birthday boy Gethin, who gave the home crowd plenty to cheer about. Gethin kicked Woodend’s first goal of the day and quickly followed it up with another shortly after and the team celebrated with him which was great to see.
We wish the year 6 boys the best with their Football journey in High school next year and hope to see the year 5 boys back representing Woodend again next year.
Thank you to the great parent help with goal umpiring, scoring, timing and cheering on the team.
Well done to all players on a great day of SAPSASA football.
