by | Jun 30, 2024

Dear parents, carers, grandparents and friends,

As we bring our incredible three-night run of “We Will Rock You: Young @ Part” to a close, we are filled with immense gratitude and pride for the amazing journey we’ve shared. In addition this musical has been shared across the school and Woodend Children Centre children.

First and foremost, a huge thank you to our talented Woodend Primary School students. Your hard work, passion, and dedication have truly brought this show to life. You have all shone brightly on stage, and we couldn’t be prouder of each and every one of you.

A special thank you to our outstanding team: Regi Crook, our brilliant Director and Music Coach, for your vision and guidance has shaped this wonderful production. Your expertise and encouragement have been invaluable.; Jess Coster, our exceptional Director and Dance Coach, thank you for choreographing such dynamic and engaging performances. Your creativity and patience have inspired our students to deliver their best; and Kelly Packer, our incredible Production Manager, your efforts behind the scenes have ensured everything ran smoothly and seamlessly as well as Alexis Cox, Assistance Dance Coach for inspiring the students to do their best and working as a team with Jess. Dave Aparicio, thank you for your expertise in light and sound, which added a professional touch to our performances. Your expertise and attention to detail created an environment where performers were able to shine, and audiences could fully appreciate the production.

Thankyou to those who assisted along the way, including Christina Munro, Angela Burrows, Loretta Bowshall-Freeman, Jakub Gaudasinski, Matt Hehner, Dylan Harlow, Kellie Najjar, Ethan Packer and Harry Crook.

We also extend our deepest gratitude to our sponsors. Your generous support made it possible for our 43 young performers to participate and produce such an amazing show. Your contributions to our fundraising event earlier this year have truly made a difference. (See the list below)

To the over 400 audience members who attended our three shows, thank you for your enthusiastic support. Your presence and applause have meant the world to our students and the entire production team. We know that participating in a musical extravaganza offers students a well-rounded set of benefits that enhance their personal growth, academic performance, social skills, and emotional well-being. It is an enriching experience that prepares them for various aspects of life.

A special thankyou to Jess Simmons and her band of helpers who provided coffee and hot chocolate to patrons during the show.

Thank you all for being a part of this fantastic journey. We look forward to many more unforgettable performances in the future!

With heartfelt thanks,

Steve Freeman
Principal
