Something is shifting in the way families think about kids and smartphones, and we want our community to be part of the conversation. From Monday 19 to Monday 26 October, Wait Mate is holding free parent sessions at six schools in our area, each built around one idea: waiting as long as possible before giving children their own smartphone, and doing it alongside other families so no one has to be the only one saying “not yet”. No judgement, no scare tactics, just honest information and support.

The sessions will also cover helpful information for families who have already given their child a smartphone, so these are relevant for all families from R-6. Our school is hosting a session on Wednesday 21 October from 7.00pm to 8.00pm in the gym. The invitation is open to all parents, grandparents and carers of Woodend Primary and surrounding schools.
