Dear Families,

Thank you for your engagement and support as we begin the school year. The Building Connections meetings have now concluded, and our reception teachers truly value the insights shared and gained about your children. These meetings are essential in ensuring a smooth and positive start for all our new students.

Our recent Acquaintance Evening was wonderfully attended. It was heartwarming to see so many families visiting classrooms, connecting with teachers, and sharing in the excitement of learning. I observed students proudly showcasing their classrooms, seating arrangements, and early achievements. These visits provide parents, grandparents, and caregivers with a valuable glimpse into their child’s learning environment.

A special thank you goes out to the generous parents who donated their time to serve sausages and drinks during the evening. We are particularly grateful to Parent Network members Jess Simmonds, Vickki McGiver, and Nicola Ward. A heartfelt thanks also to students Marlee Ward, as well as former students Hannah Ward and Jasmin Till, who all stayed busy throughout the event. We sincerely appreciate Karen Graham for preparing an incredible 700 sausages!

I also want to acknowledge the dedication of our teachers, who put in tremendous effort to prepare their classrooms for your visits. This time of year is always busy as routines are established, but their enthusiasm to connect with families is inspiring. It was a pleasure to see so many families engaging with teachers and enjoying the evening.

Looking ahead, please note that our first Pupil Free Day will be held on Friday, March 7, leading into the Adelaide Cup long weekend. The Governing Council will finalize the remaining Pupil Free Days for 2025 at the next meeting, and we will share the dates promptly afterward. OSHC services will be available throughout the day.

Thank you once again for your support and involvement in our school community.

Warm regards,
Steve Freeman
Principal
