Excitement filled the air as 70 Woodend students took to the Entertainment Centre stage on Tuesday, September 10th. They danced with elegance, power, and precision! The judges’ comments focused on how professional they looked, especially considering they were Primary School students. They praised the timing, positioning, and choreography, and were particularly impressed by the students’ expressive facials—something we worked hard on during rehearsals. The Schools Challenge Australia team was so impressed that Woodend was selected to open the show!

It was a big day for our students: long hours, rehearsals, full costumes, makeup, and hair! We were impressed with how all the students managed and still brought boundless energy to the stage.

One of the students’ highlights—besides performing on a world-class stage—was the amp-up session where they watched their teachers dance on stage and got to meet the night’s host, Cosi!

The judges were so impressed with our performance that we won the Overall Entertainment Award with honourable mentions in drama and theatrics, and congeniality for positivity and enthusiasm. We couldn’t be prouder!

A massive thank you to our Woodend Performance Team Crew: Mrs. Najjar, Mrs. Coster, Ms. Gregory, and our amazing Seaview assistants, Taya, Taylor, and Georgia. Thank you also to our volunteers who assisted during the day and night to give the students such a wonderful opportunity.
