Dear families,
I wish to acknowledge staff who will be leaving us this year.
Jarrod Lamshed has won a position as Senior Leader Digital Technologies at the new Aldinga B-12 School, named the Aldinga Payinthi College, beginning next year. Jarrod has been at Woodend for 7 years and has been a leader in our Digital Technologies, as well as managing other areas including Instrumental Music, Festival Choir, our Student Representative Council and the Student Digital Leaders. At Payinthi College, Jarrod will be working with a leadership team in building a new school from its very foundations. We wish Jarrod well in his new position.
The other person we farewell is Cate Ellis. Cate has been at Woodend School for 8 years, leading the Visual Arts program, ensuring that her passion for art is passed on to children of all ages. Cate has a long association with art and education. Some of you may have even used Readers at school that were illustrated by Cate. She has led Woodend students to display work at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, online through our digital Art Gallery and throughout the school. She has left a legacy of her work with our Year 7 Memento Program, an annual gift that year 7 students leave for future students. Cate provided the artistic expertise and ability to guide budding artists, to make each project a reality. Cate is retiring but has promised to come and volunteer in the Garden next year. We wish Cate all the best in retirement.
We will farewell Ashleigh Carey for a year while she welcomes another addition to her family. We look forward to seeing Ashleigh in 2022.
Kind regards,
Steve Freeman
Principal
