Our Woodend Boys Rugby Team had an outstanding day at the Southern Valley Rugby League Carnival held on Friday at Reynella East College.

With seven teams competing, the boys played five matches and finished the carnival undefeated, winning every game.The boys demonstrated exceptional teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the day. Every player contributed to the team’s success by supporting one another and giving their best effort in every match. A highlight was the boys sharing conversion kick opportunities so that everyone had the chance to contribute and score points for the team.

Their sportsmanship extended beyond their own games. The boys willingly filled in for opposition teams that were short on players, demonstrating respect, kindness, and a strong sense of community. Between matches, they spent their time practising conversion kicks and cheering on friends from other school teams.

The carnival promotes strong sportsmanship values, with special awards decided by the referees based on these qualities. We are incredibly proud that our team received the ‘Respect’ Award, as it reflects our school values of Care, Respect, and Community.
Well done to our boys on their outstanding achievement and representation of our school! Their success has earned them a place in the next round of competition in Term 4.
