When Woodend Primary School was first built back in 1995, we planted a beautiful Rose Garden out the front of our school. Over the years, we have enjoyed watching the roses bloom and grow from tiny plants into mature rose bushes.
Today we held our Rose Ceremony where we officially welcomed our newest members of Woodend Primary School Community … our Reception students from Rooms 3, 4, 11 and 12. Each Reception student was given a rose by a senior student as a symbol that they must continue to grow in resilience just like our Woodend roses that have grown in varying temperatures and soils. It was also lovely to have our parents/carers with us to celebrate the ceremony.
We wish these new students every success in their future journey of learning at Woodend.
We thank Mrs Coster and her Year 5/6 for making the roses. We also thank Mrs Packer and her Year 5/6 class for helping to set up and pack away the ceremony in the gym.
