New Playground

Our student leaders have been working with the SRC this year on a concept design to redevelop the playground area adjacent to the COLA (Covered Outdoor Learning Area). While this is not finalised and the consultation process is continuing with students across the school, we are proud of the progress the 2024 team has made towards this fantastic addition to our school.

Students have been thoughtful in developing and sharing their ideas, carefully considering how this area can make our schoolyard inviting and fun for everyone. You can see the current design below. This is currently being revised to include more of our students’ ideas, but in the meantime, you are welcome to provide any feedback via dl.1056.info@schools.sa.edu.au

Middle Playground

In 2022, our SRC worked on the design for the Middle Playground area, with a brief to create a play space that connected well to the Castle play area and was inviting for both our primary and younger students. They envisioned it to be bright and colourful, and capable of accommodating many children during play times.

The installation of this playground, a fun and challenging place for children to climb and hang, was a proud moment for the team.

Fundraising later allowed for the addition of the sail, which makes this an area we can enjoy safely in the warmer months.

Playground Safety

Working alongside staff, SRC thought carefully about how we could use the Middle Playground safely.

On the Middle Playground, we ask that students follow these important rules:

  • Students must be able to reach the monkey bars and flying fox without jumping.
  • Eating is not allowed on the playground.
  • Chasey games are not permitted on the equipment or in the playground area.
  • The playground is out of bounds when wet for safety reasons.

Before school, and at recess and lunch, a teacher is on duty in the Middle Playground to monitor the area. We kindly ask that if you bring your child to the playground outside of these times, you actively supervise them. Children who are not under the supervision of an adult are not permitted to play in this area.

Thank you for your support in making our school a safe place to learn and play.
