Our Remembrance Day Ceremony

by | Nov 11, 2019

Our remembrance of all those who have served or are serving in our armed forces was remembered today by 657 students and 59 staff and visitors. This is an important time for students to appreciate the sacrifice that has been made on their behalf by many Australians in a number of wars, and is still being made today. Students were very respectful and listened to the ceremony as it was presented by ten of our Woodend students.

Jack Crook and Briar Higgins were our wreath bearers, placing it next to the flagpole during the service. Our ceremony was capably led by Seth B, Liam S, Jasper C, Briar H, Imogen C, Jade S, Alanna S, Shannon F and Sarah O.

The Last Post, One Minutes Silence, Rouse and raising of the three flags were featured during this time. It is important to be an active participant in  Remembrance Day and we have a role to play in this at Woodend School. Thank you to everyone who helped to organise today.

Below are several photos from the ceremony. (Two videos have been added to the end – they may take a while to load but are worth it.)
