Thank you to our 2022 OSHC Staff!

Kari

I love being able to build connections and a strong relationships with children all across the school as a part of my roles. I am passionate about our students wellbeing and strive to create a warm and welcoming environment. As well as a staff member I am also a parent of child who attends Woodend Primary School and I love being a part of our school community. I look forward to continuing to get to know you and your child/ren.

Dale

Hi I’m Dale. I’m an ex Woodend student currently studying Disability and Developmental Education at Flinders University. I’m passionate about an inclusive world for everyone! I enjoy manipulating photos in Photoshop, walking with my dog, playing table tennis and the PlayStation with friends in my spare time.

Miles

My name is Miles and I am 20 years old. As an ex Woodend student who found this school to be such a positive experience in my childhood I hope to help make a similar impact and leave behind great memories of the Woodend OSHC. I’m studying at Flinders University and have a passion for writing (and watching) movies. I’m also a musician, having completed two certificates on performing in the music industry. I look forward to seeing you all around at OSHC.

Sophie

My name is Sophie Kingsmill and come August, I’ll have been at Woodend OSHC for four years. Over this period, I’ve watched so many children that have walked through our service grow into the incredible young people they are today and I constantly strive to make as much of a positive impact on them as they have on me. I’m looking forward to the coming changes to our OSHC and want to continue to be the best role model I can be! When I’m away from OSHC, I play and write music and hope to perform more around Adelaide, attend as many Crows games as possible, re-read Harry Potter over and over and take my dog, Paddy for river walks.

Janaya

Hi! My name is Janaya. I am studying my Master of Teaching (R-6) at Flinders University, and my undergraduate degree was in Anthropology and English. I am a bright, bubbly personality and I love working with kids – I have worked across many OSHC departments in different schools and have volunteered as a softball coach. I love reading, art, dance, drama, fashion and having fun! I’m looking forward to working in this fantastic school, and meeting you all.

I am passionate about student wellbeing and look forward to facilitating a warm and welcoming environment for all of our children here in the OSHC centre.

Amelia

I’m a Pre-Service Primary School Teacher, currently completing my Master’s degree at Flinders University. Formerly a journalist, I elected to transition into the education sector because I enjoy working with children and their families, and helping people. After I graduate from university, I would love to work as a classroom teacher, however I also intend to specialise in literacy. Outside of studying and working, I enjoy playing netball as well as bass guitar and piano. I also love cooking and trying various cuisines from other cultures. I have two little dogs at home, and am a dedicated Port Power fan.

Lochie

Hello I am Lochie, I have been working at Woodend OSHC for almost two years now. I enjoy working with my fellow staff members and children, in a friendly accepting environment. I am currently studying at uni and have a passion for music. Sometimes I bring my guitar into OSHC and perform with other staff for the students. I enjoy sharing my passion for music with the children. I look forward to continuing my work at OSHC and hope to continue seeing all of smiling faces around OSHC.

Lauren E – Co-Director

Over the past 7 years I have loved working at Woodend OSHC, and I am excited to see what I can bring to the service in a leadership role. I completed my degree in primary education/arts at Flinders University and since then have worked in various schools as a temporary relief teacher and on short term contracts. I love working with children and believe that together with the OSHC team we can build upon an already great service and make it a place that all children love to come. When I’m not working, I enjoy taking my dalmatian, Monty, out for long walks and exploring as much of the local area as we can. I also enjoy cooking and continuing my search for the best Italian restaurant in Adelaide.

Emilie – Co-Director

I’m Emilie Rogers, one of the new co directors of Woodend OSHC. I have worked in early childhood education, between child care and other OSHC services, for the last 15 years or so. My son just started reception at Woodend this year and I also have a niece and nephew there. I have enjoyed being part of the school community as a parent and hope I can make a positive contribution as an employee. Leadership is new to me but I believe my previous experience in the industry has prepared me well for the role. I look forward to meeting you and, along with Lauren and the team, look after your children.
