As part of a Student Representative Council (SRC) initiative, we will be recognising World Environment Day by encouraging students to bring a nude food lunch on Friday the 5th of June.
A nude food lunch helps reduce waste by limiting single-use packaging and plastics that often end up in landfill. It is a simple way for students to think about their environmental impact and take positive action to care for our school and planet.
Ideas for a nude food lunch include:
• Sandwiches, wraps or rolls packed in a reusable container
• Fresh fruit and vegetables instead of individually packaged snacks
• Homemade muffins, slices or popcorn in a lunchbox container
• Refillable drink bottles instead of disposable drink containers
• Reusable containers for yoghurt, crackers, cheese or other snacks
We understand that bringing a completely nude food lunch may not be possible for all families. If your child is unable to participate, we simply ask that they take any lunch litter home with them on the day.
Students will also take part in special World Environment Day activities, including:
🌱 A fun presentation for our Early Years classes
🌿 Caring for and improving areas of our school garden in Primary classes
🌳 Planting a new tree on the oval on behalf of our 2026 student group
Thank you for supporting our students as they learn about sustainability and the small actions we can all take to make a difference.
