Our learning support programs are up and running again for term 2 and we are pleased with the progress students are making with this additional support.
This term, there are a couple of significant Learning Support processes – One Plan reviews and the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data for students with disability.
Personalised Learning Plans
Our annual review of personalised learning plans for students within targeted groups and/or with identified specific learning needs is well under way.
Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) are developed and reviewed in consultation with families for students whose learning is differentiated and accommodated within the classroom and small group interventions. Classroom teachers and families reviewed student ILPs during 3-way interviews last term, celebrating achievements and updating learning goals and strategies to maximise learning in 2021.
One Plans are developed for students identified in any of the following priority groups – Children and young people in care, students who identify as Aboriginal and students with disability. One Plans are part of the documentation for children and students who require more targeted support and interventions through the Inclusive Education Support program (IESP) to enable their participation and achievement within the curriculum.
Nationally Consistent Collection of Data for Students with Disabilities
Every year, all schools in Australia participate in the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD). The NCCD process requires schools to identify information already available in the school about supports provided to students with disability. The NCCD will have no direct impact on students and students will not be involved in any testing process. The school will provide data to the Australian Government in such a way that no individual student will be able to be identified – the privacy and confidentiality of all students is ensured. All information is protected by privacy laws that regulate the collection, storage and disclosure of personal information. Teachers gather evidence throughout the year and the submission of data occurs in week 3 term 3.
More information is available in this fact sheet for parents guardians and carers.
