There has been plenty of ‘cheep cheep cheep’ noises coming from our Reception classrooms this past fortnight. We have, once again, enjoyed watching the chickens pipping, hatching, growing and changing as they hatched out of their eggs. Throughout the program, students have experienced the wonder of watching chicks hatch and grow, measuring growth, observing and drawing the chicks, writing a daily journal about their observations and making and critiquing habitats for a healthy chick to survive. These hands-on learning opportunities sparked curiosity and helped our young learners deepen their understanding of life cycles, responsibility, and care for living things.

We thank Mike at Henny Penny Hatching Program for his support, and we thank our wonderful Reception teachers for providing this memorable learning experience for our students.
