Last month we celebrated the chickens’ 2nd birthdays! Happy Birthday Bingo, Queenie, Violet, Chicki, Bubbles and Waffle! They were very spoilt as the students fed them some extra special treats and by the photos, they loved them! Some children chose to make them birthday cards!
Our Year 5/6 students have been busily developing a special space in the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden for Mr Zampogna’s grape vines. The vines have been given to us from Mr Z and his family which is a special part of his family history. The vines are originally from Norman Wines in Underdale and were from cutting stock. They are over 60 years old. You can still see some of the vines on Sturt Road opposite the Sturt Police Station. The red table grapes were planted by Mr Leo Zampogna, Mr Z’s father in 1960. Our students have been preparing and painting a sign to recognise this piece of history for Mr Z’s mother (‘Nonna’) and father.
We wish all our students, staff and parents a very happy Christmas.
