A school Dress Code is the documented standards of what is acceptable in relation to the clothing worn by students while attending school and extra-curricular school activities. The Dress Code describes what constitutes the ‘school uniform’ for our school. Our Woodend Dress Code policy was developed with the support of parents, students and staff and it our collective responsibility to ensure that we are meeting these standards. We have noticed some students wearing alternative items and in line with our policy, they should be wearing the following:

  • socks – plain white, black or navy
  • shorts – no shorter than mid thigh length
  • jewellery – small sleepers or studs
  • nail polish – no nail polish
  • Hair – for safety reasons, shoulder length hair must be tied back at all times
  • Hair ties or hair clips – small, plain and unobtrusive, navy or gold
  • Scrunchies or headbands – plain navy or gold, navy and gold check or blue and white check
  • Hair colour – student’s natural tonings

To assist your child with following the policy, please acquaint yourself with the Dress Code policy below or you can access it on our website.

In the coming months, our Dress Code policy will be reviewed and we will keep you informed of this process.

Thank you for supporting us with our aim of continuing to develop our school as a supportive, positive, non-discriminatory, equitable and safe learning environment where all students can feel they belong, are valued and can achieve success.
