Last Saturday 2nd August, our nineteen riders completed their final race event at ‘The Bend’, Tailem Bend. This totals three races for the year:
1. Saturday 17th May at ‘The Bend’
2. Friday 13th June at ‘Victoria Park Racecourse’
3. Saturday 2nd August at ‘The Bend’
We are so proud of all our riders and their successes! With each race, every rider improved with their skills, stamina, mindset, laps and/or speed! Our school values of: Respect, Community and Care were reflected in their participation and the generous time and support of our Woodend families to ensure personal and team success.
A big thank you to Pedal Prix coordinator, Kerry, for all her precious time coordinating Pedal Prix for all our families. Pedal Prix could not have happened without her efforts. Kerry was so well supported by many Woodend parents/grandparents so that all the necessary equipment, supervision, bike care and rider help was addressed. This included support with training, transporting the vehicles to the races, marshalling, bike repairs, pit crew, rider change coordination and providing advice to, and cheering on our riders. Their help was so important to the success of Pedal Prix.
Thank you to all our families for providing their child with a new experience or an ongoing interest in Pedal Prix. Unless in Year 6, we hope that these riders may want to be involved again in 2026. Here are a few photos of Saturday’s final race:
