On Friday, 4th July, the Woodend Primary School community is coming together for a student led special event to raise funds for the Cancer Council. This fun and meaningful day “Cancel the Cancer” is all about showing support for people affected by cancer — and we’re inviting everyone to get involved!
Our Fundraising Goal
We’ve set a big target of $5,000, and with your help, we know we can reach it! There are some very brave volunteers ready to make a big sacrifice in the name of a great cause:
- If we raise $2,000, Year 4 student Elijah will shave his head!
- If we hit our $5,000 target, our amazing Principal Mr Freeman will also shave his head!
- Joining in the head-shaving fun are staff members Mr Welfare, Mrs Williams, Regi, and Kieran — all going bald to support cancer research and those impacted.
- Biggest fundraisers will get the privilege of colouring our guests hair!
What’s Happening on the Day?
The school will be buzzing with activities and excitement, students from rooms 15 and 16 have been working hard to create a fun and successful day!
- Coloured Hairspray: For a $5 donation, students can get creative and have their hair sprayed in fun, vibrant colours!
- Bake Sale: Delicious treats will be on sale for $1 and $2 — kindly donated by families in rooms 15/16
- Special Guests: We’ll be joined by a local politician and other special guests, helping to shine a light on this important cause.
How to get your Hair Coloured on the Day
In the week leading up to Friday July 4, each student wanting to colour their hair will need to bring their $5 cash to secure their hair colour. This will be checked off within classrooms to help make the day run smoothly. All delicious treats and stalls will be CASH ONLY on the day.
