Yesterday, our year 1-6 students were involved in Bully Zero Workshops and in painting a whole school mural celebrating difference.
At the workshops year 1 and 2 students learnt about what bullying is, what it isn’t, what to do if they are bullied or see someone else being bullied and the importance of empathy and respect.
Year 3 – 6 students were involved in a program called Thrive. They learnt about resilience, including learning from failure, thinking positively, knowing their strengths, surrounding themselves with support and how gratitude and mindfulness can help with managing big emotions.
Thank you to parents who joined the live webinar for parents last night. In this session we learnt about cyber bullying ands cyber-safety. This included a case study, some statistics about children’s online engagement and some helpful tips about common apps and games. Key messages for parents were:

- No devices one hour before bed
- Set boundaries around online activities
- Supervise and monitor games and online chat
- Ensure your child is using appropriate apps and games
- Activate security settings in apps and devices and continually review these to ensure you keep up with updates
- Check out safety websites, including e-safety commissioner website.
