Last term, students at Woodend Primary School participated in a whole-school project as part of their Technologies lessons. Working in groups, students were challenged to imagine, plan, and create a board game that connected to or taught one of our school values: Care, Community, or Respect. This open-ended task encouraged creativity and teamwork, while also providing a valuable opportunity for students to develop key dispositions such as collaboration, empathy, persistence, time management, accountability, innovation, respect, and ethical thinking.

The project concluded with a Board Game Expo in the gym on the Friday of Week 1. It was wonderful to see students proudly sharing their creations and explaining how their games reflected our school values. We were also delighted to welcome so many families who came along to celebrate the students’ achievements and creativity.
