A close SAPSASA cricket game!

by | Apr 5, 2021

Another close game of Cricket today for the Woodend cricketers! Woodend batted first and lost 6 quick wickets which put us in a tough position at 6/40.
Jayden and Dane then batted well to help build the score. Jayden out for 9 and Dane was best with the bat retiring at 15 not out. Josh, Jake and Evan all contributed well at the end of the innings to get the score to 9/106.
The boys started well with the ball with 2 early wickets from Jayden and Shivaan. At the half way mark Flagstaff were 3/43. Late in their innings they had some powerful hitting which put them back in the game. Unfortunately in the last over with 2 balls left Flagstaff got the winning runs ending up 4/111.
Best with the ball:
Eli 2 overs – 0/1
Jayden 2 overs – 1/9
Shivaan 2 overs – 1/8
We are very proud of how all the students played and encouraged each other. Thank you for the scoring and support from the parents and well done Woodend on your performance and team work.
