Have you seen our feathery visitors? All of our Reception classes have focussed on the biological sciences this term and the children have had the experience of observing and recording the changes that occur from the embryo to the hen. Many children have been intrigued by the change to these little living creatures over this past fortnight. The children have engaged in numerous learning experiences such as:

• measuring and recording the growth of their first chick
• identifying the best habitat for a chick
• writing a mini report in their journal about the chickens each day
• reading, viewing and discussing about the lifecycle of a chicken
