Basketball
Woodend Primary School offers the chance to play basketball in a mixed competition catering for students in years 2/3, 4/5 and 6.

The games are played at the Morphett Vale Basketball Stadium which is an undercover venue.

Years 6 games are on Monday nights. Years 2/3 games are on Tuesday nights. Year 4/5 games are on Wednesday nights.

Times for these matches are either 3.45pm, 4.30pm or 5.15pm. Games will be 2 x 15min halves.

Players wear navy blue shorts and a basketball top which will be supplied and then returned when the player ceases to play or at the end of the year.

Teams are able to play all year round with a break during the school holidays. It is a great way to make new friends and keep fit and learn some new skills. Even if you have never played before come and give it a try. Our coaches are able to teach you the rules of the game and at training you will be able to better your skills.

Training days are at the coach’s discretion and usually happen after school on the basketball court in front of Room 1.

Training will go for approx. 45-60minutes. If the weather is forecast at 32˚ in the morning training will be cancelled. You will be required to wear a hat and have a drink bottle for training.

On game days, the stadium will allow more timeouts throughout the game if over 32˚. Games will be cancelled at 35˚.
