Term 3 has been another busy term for all R-7 students in their PE program. The term started with R-3/4 classes focussing on Gymnastics in their lessons. Our year 4-7 classes started learning the sport Lacrosse, which proved to be very engaging and a difficult sport to learn. Most of the older classes were lucky enough to have Marilyn from Lacrosse SA come out to the majority of their lessons to teach the skills and strategies that are involved in the sport
In week 5 an ex-student returned to Woodend for work experience and was able to assist me in lessons for the week and she did a fantastic job. In the second half of the term our R-4 classes have now moved onto learning Soccer and are working hard in each lesson to improve their skills. Our year 5-7 students are experiencing for the first time a sport called Speedminton. This is a combination of Tennis and Badminton played outdoors without a net.
