The Student Representative Council (SRC) has an important and valued role at Woodend Primary School. This year we have 40 student representatives from 15 classes, many of whom attended their first SRC meeting today.
Students who are elected to SRC work to improve our school by discussing important topics and making decisions about student-led wellbeing and environmental projects, with a focus on student learning. SRC supports the personal development of representatives, helping them to better understand their peers and learn a wide range of communication skills. Representatives apply democratic decision making processes and learn to develop themselves and others as leaders.
In 2023, the SRC will undertake two major projects within our school. The Wellbeing Project Team will lead SRC in designing and implementing a project that aims to improve the overall health literacy of students. Over the coming weeks the Environmental Project Team will work with our SRC and Green Adelaide to decide upon a focus for our environmental project.
The SRC will also work with our SRC Leadership Team to organise school activities and share important messages with our community.
Congratulations to our 2023 SRC!
