Those who came out on Friday evening to attend our star gazing evening were enthralled by the close up views of the Moon and the Rings of Saturn. We had over one hundred people brave chilly winds to have a unique experience. The sky cleared enough for us to really see saturn exactly as the photo above (not actually from the night) shows. We thank Dean Davidson and other members of the astronomical society for their telescopes and expertise. A few of us brought our telescopes and got some really good advice form the experts on how to improve our experience with them. We thank those who provided the BBQ, which was very welcome in the cold evening air. A telescope might be a great idea to put on the list for Santa!
