Science in Room 24

In room 24 we have become science investigators and looking at melting. Our first focus was looking at ice and how temperature affects the melting speed of the ice.

We learnt many new things along the way! We also have many new skills that we are continuing to develop.

We began to learn how to write a science report. Beginning with a hypothesis and the different types of variables all the way through to recording data and writing a closing statement.

This was our first science lesson with an investigation and a report so we still have lots of learning to do but we are off to a good start.

The students worked in groups of three and each student in the team had a different role while still working together as a team to successfully complete the experiment. The roles are Manager, Speaker, and Director.

 

 

 

We had a few hiccups along the way but that was ok! We asked questions to help grow our understanding and solve the problems we encounters.

After the practical part of the lesson we reflected, looking at what we had learnt and also what we would change if we were to do this investigation again to get more consistent and accurate results as a class.

We are also using google slides as a collaborative class science journal to record our thoughts throughout this process.
